cimt
Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) screenings for our patients.
The test is an ultrasound using a special protocol that provides an assessment of risk for heart attack, stroke, and other ischemic events. We will not be billing insurance for this scan. The cost is $160 paid at the time of service. This is the amount already discounted for self pay.
Can I submit a claim to my insurance company?
No, the protocol does not match the typical CIMT CPT code, so is not adequately covered by insurance.
Can I use my HSA card?
Yes.
When is the next opportunity to schedule?
Tests are offered on a monthly basis. Please contact our office for the next available date.
What if I have to cancel my appointment?
The same appointment cancellation rules apply as with other appointments in our office. We ask that you allow a 48 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment or you may be subject to a late cancellation fee.
What if I can't pay at the time of service?
This is a test that must be paid at the time of service. CardioRisk Laboratories has been contracted to provide the test. The additional costs of billing have not been factored into the price.
