Read Dr. Smith’s post. He explains the reasons to exercise. I have exercised daily as long as I can remember. Sometimes it is quick and seemingly unproductive. Some might say I may even be obsessed, my numbers would beg to differ. I exercise on the weekends and during the week exercising at lunch is my way to clear my mind and just feel better. We were made to be active, to walk, to play, and to work (not just in front of a screen). It was not too long ago that are relatives were all doing chores, doing manual labor, and walking to town or around town. Now we sit…and we ride…and we sit. I walked to work once, about 6 miles one way, and had plenty of “he looks like a nice man to be homeless” stares. Daily exercise in our lives is often impractical so we have these little times when we return to our roots of being active. Oh we come up with great names like hot yoga, zoomba, TRX, or elipitcal, but I bet Pa from Little House On the Prairie could kick our backsides on any of them. There are reasons we don’t “Just Do It” and our wellness nurse, Katie Ellis is here to help with just about anything you can throw at her.
