Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered. (Proverbs 21:13 ESV)
Over the last five years this nation has watched many fundamental healthcare changes including the Affordable Care Act and the more recent SGR repeal and record breaking profit announcements from major insurance companies. Through it all we must as a nation build a system whereby the cries of the poor are heard and answered. A growing understanding of those serving the poor is that they are not truly benefited by handouts and free services but rather genuine, self-worth building paths to obtain the basic needs we all want. I encourage you to ponder by what mechanism quality healthcare could be rendered to the poor and wealthy alike. I assure you I am doing just that for two verses later it is written “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”(Proverbs 21:15 ESV)
